“I was born and raised in South East London, and have a great love for the city, and all of its wonderful sights, sounds, and smells. I’ll often wander around the city, marvelling at the architecture and finding inspiration for my paintings. I’m also fond of driving out to the countryside and enjoying the beautiful landscapes and the sprawling skyline. Since I live in Blackheath, I often take long walks around the heath, taking inspiration from my natural surroundings.”
Through growing up and living in London, James has learnt many interesting facts about the city:
- Six ravens are kept at the Tower of London and must stay there at all times. This superstition began in the 17th Century when King Charles II ordered for ravens to be placed in the building to protect it.
- The Millennium Dome is the largest building of its type in the world.
- At 310 meters tall, the Shard London Bridge is the tallest building in London and the 45th in the world.
